Cash on delivery is the main payment method in Tunisian e-commerce, and the only one available on Tounyx today. The principle is simple: nothing is charged when you order, you pay the courier in cash.
What happens, step by step
You confirm your order without giving any banking details. A confirmation code is sent to you by SMS to verify your number — that is what prevents fake orders placed with someone else's number. The seller prepares the parcel, the courier calls you before arriving, and you pay the exact amount shown on your order when it changes hands.
The amount is known before you confirm
The total shown covers the products plus the delivery fee for your governorate. Nothing is added at handover. If the amount the courier asks for differs from your order, refuse it and report it from your orders page.
Refusing a parcel: what it changes
You can refuse at the door and pay nothing. But bear in mind the round trip has a real cost, borne by the seller — often a small trader. Refusing out of convenience rather than for a genuine reason is what pushes some sellers out of online selling. If you are unsure about a size or a colour, the product page and the seller can answer before you order.
What about online payment?
It is not active yet. It will appear on the checkout page the day it is; until then the option is shown greyed out so nobody picks it by mistake.
Frequently asked questions
Can I open the parcel before paying?
That depends on the courier, who is not obliged to allow it. You do always see the parcel before paying, though. An item found defective or not as described after opening remains returnable for 14 days from your orders page.
Do I need the exact change?
Having the exact change makes handover easier, but it is not required. The amount due is the one shown on your order, which you can check any time in your account.
